Why can't inland ships sail on the sea?

1. The navigation environment is different. Since the water in rivers is not deep, the draft of inland ships is shallow, while the draft of seagoing ships sailing on the sea is deeper than that of inland ships.

2. Below the waterline, common seagoing ships use rounded bilges, while inland ships are mostly flat-bottomed.

3. In order to reduce waves on the deck, the freeboard of seagoing ships is higher, and inland ships do not have such concerns, so the freeboard is mostly very low.

4. Transport seagoing ships generally have sheltered decks, while inland transport ships mostly do not have sheltered decks and hatch covers. Inland ships have poor stability and low wind resistance. In case of severe weather such as strong winds and waves at sea, ships are prone to accidents.

5. The hull structure strength of inland ships is low, which does not meet the requirements for ship strength for sea navigation.

6. The communication system and navigation equipment of seagoing ships are much better than those of inland ships.
